Former WWE superstar and Hall of Famer Nikki Bella (Garcia) recently filed for divorce from her husband Artem Chigvintsev after he was arrested due to a domestic violence incident.
According to a report by People, court documents show that Bella filed for divorce on September 11 while revealing that the couple got legally married in January of 2023, despite them publicly indicating that their wedding took place in Paris in August of 2022.
The documents also show that Nikki has requested full physical and legal custody of the couple’s 4-year old son, Matteo while also requesting the court to reject any requests for spousal support.
The decision to file for divorce came after an incident on August 29 when Artem called into 911 seeking medical assistance. However, he later canceled the request but authorities still arrived and took him into custody after discovering injuries to Nikki. He hasn’t yet been formally charged but Nikki initiated divorce proceedings literally the next day while being spotted without her wedding ring at public appearances.
