AEW star Buddy Matthews announced last month that he will undergo surgery to repair a broken ankle. He sustained this injury back in February during AEW Grand Slam: Australia.

According to Sean Ross Sapp on the latest edition of Fightful Select Answers, Matthews is not expected to return to the ring anytime soon and will likely be sidelined for the rest of the year.

Matthew’s regular tag partner, Brody King, is now teaming up with Bandido as part of the duo known as Brodido. Together, they are the reigning AEW World Tag Team Champions.
