Alberto El Patron

Backstage News On Alberto El Patron’s Future With WWE & AAA

Since acquiring AAA several months ago, WWE has signed several of the promotion’s wrestlers to contracts, with many of them appearing in their Worlds Collide events. However, one of AAA’s most popular stars, Alberto el Patron, has yet to make an appearance at Worlds Collide and also did not participate in TripleMania.

This situation arises from Patron’s problematic past and his history of issues with WWE. In August, reports indicated that WWE had no plans to use him at that time. Nevertheless, Patron wrestled at an AAA affiliate event on September 26, where he teamed with Mr. Iguana to defeat Sam Adonis and DMT Azul. Fans have continued to chant for Patron at multiple AAA events, including TripleMania, highlighting his popularity.

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has not yet decided how to proceed with Patron, if they plan to take any action at all. Patron was positioned as a top star in AAA, but he recently lost a “loser leaves town” match within the promotion. Last week, he appeared on a show that aired and was taped prior to the loser leaves town match, although this context was not communicated to the viewing audience.
