In the latest episode of Fightful Select Answers, the status of Adam Cole was discussed after he had to step away from the ring last July due to a concussion sustained during the July 10 edition of AEW Collision.
According to Sean Ross Sapp, Cole is not close to being ready for a return to in-ring action. While avoiding too many details, Sapp mentioned that Cole anticipated facing difficulties as a result of his recent concussion. He also highlighted that AEW President and CEO Tony Khan is “fiercely loyal” to Cole, which suggests it is unlikely that Cole is coaching or participating in any similar roles for AEW, as traveling might impede his recovery.
Bryan Alvarez added in the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that Cole suffered the concussion during a lariat spot with Kyle Fletcher in a tag team match. This match also featured Cole’s Paragon teammates Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong, competing against The Don Callis Family’s Fletcher, Rocky Romero, and Trent Beretta.
