Details On Nixon Newell & Miranda Alize Situation Being Discussed On The Indie Scene

Dave Meltzer discussed in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter the ongoing situation in AEW involving Nixon Newell (known as Tegan Nox in WWE) and Miranda Alize.

This controversy has sparked debate among indie wrestling promoters, with some questioning whether it could impact future bookings or ticket sales in the independent scene.

Meltzer noted that one individual in the independent wrestling community believes that the increased attention surrounding this situation may boost Newell’s visibility.

This individual pointed out that the controversy has become a significant topic within wrestling, with some indie promoters thinking that it could help sell tickets, noting that Newell and Alize are not just two random women in the industry.

However, another promoter who books independent talent expressed a different perspective. They claimed that Newell is unlikely to gain more work from this situation and that she was struggling with bookings even before these events.

The promoter mentioned that Newell had difficulty securing consistent gigs, citing issues with her “asking too much money” and generating “zero ticket sales” based on her name alone. This promoter referred to her mindset as “usual WWE brain rot.”

It remains unclear whether Newell and Alize will return to AEW, especially considering that they reportedly walked out during last week’s Collision tapings due to a rumored three-minute match against Tay Melo and Anna Jay. However, both Newell and Alize have since denied certain aspects of these reports.
