WWE Crown Jewel 2019 Backstage News Update -- NO WOMEN On The Card?! (10/25/2019)

WWE Not Even Bothering To Attempt To Book Women’s Match At Crown Jewel 2019 PPV

It looks like WWE won’t even bother attempting to book a women’s match on the card when they make their return to Saudi Arabia next week for their WWE Crown Jewel 2019 pay-per-view.

WWE’s next event in Saudi Arabia – Crown Jewel – airs on October 31 in Riyadh and has the distinction of being the company’s biggest revenue show of the year but no doubt will also end up being the least watched PPV as well given the date and time (1 PM) of airing.

Eight matches have been announced and this appears to include all the key matches with the possibility of some lower-end bouts being added.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter at F4WOnline.com, one major difference is this time is that there seems to be no attempt by WWE to persuade the Saudi government to include a women’s match on the card – in stark contrast to the last show where WWE quietly brought over Natalya and Alexa Bliss in hopes of getting a last minute change of heart to include that match on the card.

A similarity to previous shows is that wrestlers John Cena, Daniel Bryan and Kevin Owens who had indicated to WWE officials that they would not be a part of any events in Saudi Arabia, none of them are booked on the show.

As well, Sami Zayn, who the Saudi government didn’t want on any previous PPVs, is also not going to be at Crown Jewel.
