ROH TV Title Changes Hands In Dallas

ROH TV Title Changes Hands This Weekend, Best In The World PPV Change?

At the Ring Of Honor (ROH) “State of the Art” event in Dallas, Texas on Saturday night, a title changed hands.

Heading into their ROH “Best in the World” pay-per-view on June 29, the ROH Television Championship changed hands this weekend in the main event of the State of the Art show at the Gilley’s Dallas Arena.

The main event of the show featured an Instant Reward Proving Ground Match, with ROH Television Champion Silas Young putting his title on-the-line against Punishment Martinez, Adam “Hangman” Page, Jonathan Gresham, Scorpio Sky and Cheeseburger. The stipulation of the match called for the winner to get an immediate title shot if Young didn’t score the pinfall or submission to end the match.

Because Punishment Martinez his his South of Heaven Chokeslam on Cheeseburger in the match for the pin, as per the stipulation, he earned an immediate title shot against Silas Young right on the spot. The match was a short, back-and-forth contest that ended when Martinez hit his Chokeslam finisher on Young to score the pinfall and capture the ROH Television Championship.

As the show went off the air on FITE TV and the HonorClub streaming service from Dallas on Saturday night, the announcers speculated about whether or not Punishment Martinez would be defending his newly won ROH TV Championship against Adam Page at the upcoming ROH Best In The World PPV on 6/29.
