— Bill Goldberg last wrestled for WWE against Roman Reigns at February’s Elimination Chamber PPV and while he has fulfilled his obligations of wrestling for the promotion, he told the NY Post that he remains under contract to WWE and is waiting to see if or when there will be another call for him to appear on TV or wrestle a match. He added that a shoulder injury that he has struggled with for a while likely requires surgery but he hasn’t gone under the knife yet in anticipation of being called again by WWE.

— Interestingly, WWE brings Friday Night Smackdown to Salt Lake City, UT on September 23. On September 22, 1997 also in Salt Lake City, Goldberg made his WCW debut beginning an incredible streak that powered him to near the top of the wrestling world. It’s possible that WWE could commemorate his 25-year anniversary on that night given these circumstances.
