Additional Details On Whether WWE’s Bleacher Report Deal Could Affect AEW

WWE recently announced a multi-year content deal with Bleacher Report, raising questions about whether this move will impact AEW (All Elite Wrestling), especially considering Bleacher Report’s connection to TNT Sports and Warner Bros. Discovery.

According to a report from Fightful Select, a source within Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) stated that the WWE deal will not affect AEW’s existing agreements with WBD. The source mentioned that Bleacher Report has similar agreements with other sports leagues, as well as with AEW.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com corroborated Fightful’s report, citing another source within WBD who confirmed that the WWE deal is a global agreement negotiated by TNT Sports and will not influence AEW. Johnson noted that WBD is “very happy” with its current arrangement with All Elite Wrestling. Additionally, the AEW deal reportedly carries “exclusivity” in the U.S., while the WWE deal is global and comparable to WBD’s contracts with the NFL, NHL, and other sports leagues.

Johnson further explained that the WWE deal with Bleacher Report might ultimately benefit AEW, as it could lead to increased resources for covering professional wrestling. This additional coverage may attract more viewers to AEW content. Finally, it was emphasized that the WWE agreement does not include any clauses preventing Bleacher Report from covering or promoting AEW programming.
