AEW Beats NXT In Ratings In First Wednesday Night Wars Showdown, WWE Congratulates AEW (UPDATED x5)

Holy smokes, it happened! David beat Goliath via first round knockout, as All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has defeated World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in the first “Wednesday Night Wars” showdown, as AEW Dynamite out-draws NXT On USA in head-to-head, live two-hour battle on Wednesday night.

While exact figures are yet to be announced, AEW’s Dynamite beat WWE’s NXT last night in viewership.

WWE released the following statement:

“Congratulations to AEW on a successful premiere. The real winners of last night’s head-to-head telecasts of NXT on USA Network and AEW on TNT are the fans, who can expect Wednesday nights to be a competitive and wild ride as this is a marathon, not a one-night sprint.”

We will keep you posted here at as soon as the actual numbers from the first Wednesday Night Wars showdown become available.

UPDATE #1: According to the Wrestling Observer, the early ratings for the debut of AEW Dynamite on TNT indicate between 1.5-1.7 million viewers for the live show, with an additional 650,000 who watched the replay right after.
