During last night’s AEW All Out post-show media scrum, a reporter asked Tony Khan about WWE running counter-programming against the show with Worlds Collide taking place in the same city and time as the AEW event.
Khan immediately referenced the earlier Fightful report which suggested that WWE was “surprised” that All Out drew as well as they did considering Worlds Collide was in the same market.
“I was kind of surprised they would say that because we’ve done very very well, AEW is having an incredible year. Why would they be surprised we sold out; we’ve sold this arena out many times. All Out was an amazing event.”
“So I was surprised WWE sources commented they were surprised themselves that AEW All Out performed very well. The pay-per-view did great and the show sold very well. So I don’t know why anybody would underestimate AEW, we’re having a great year in 2026. And we had a great 2025, and I think this year has been even better.”
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful then clarified in a subsequent report that his story was based on WWE sources who were speaking on the matter, rather than WWE issuing a statement in an official manner.
