— Below are news, notes and possible spoilers for tonight’s AEW Double or Nothing:
- The NY Post ran a story that suggested that Mercedes Mone was cleared to return to action back in December 23, presumably around the time she signed with AEW. However, both AEW and NJPW sources refute that report and claim that it was “pretty clear” that Mone wasn’t going to be returning until May.
- NJPW sources report that multiple names have been throw around as the AEW World Title challenger for the Forbidden Door PPV, however, “outside the box” options have also been considered for that role.
- More NJPW wrestlers are expected to pop up in AEW over the coming weeks, perhaps as soon as this week. As well, “familiar faces” will also be returning to AEW.
- Everyone expects MJF to be back on AEW TV very soon.
- While nothing has been confirmed, there have been some rumors that Gangrel could be involved in tonight’s AEW Double or Nothing. When asked, AEW sources wouldn’t tip their hand but did admit that discussions have taken place between the two sides.
- On the WrestleVotes tweet that “big happenings” were expected early during AEW Double or Nothing, the fightfulselect.com confirms that they were also told “yes.”
- Also spotted in Las Vegas is Wardlow and Juice Robinson. Britt Baker is not expected to be there and new signee Kamille, who hinted at being at Double or Nothing, is not expected to be in attendance.
