The numbers are in for week four of the Wednesday Night Wars between WWE and AEW, as the ratings and viewership for the October 23rd episodes of NXT On USA and AEW Dynamite are in.
Once again, AEW Dynamite out-drew NXT On USA, however, both shows saw yet another decrease in viewership with AEW’s show slipped to 963,000 viewers, while WWE’s NXT show fell to 698,000 viewers.
On the night, AEW was #4 in the 18-49 demographic while NXT was down in #21 spot. Week-over-week, Dynamite was down 5% and NXT was down 2%.
Competition wise, it was a tough night with a couple NBA games leading the way the way in the 18-49 demo on the cable side, while on broadcast TV, the MLB World Series was huge – being watched almost 12 million people and it was directly head-to-head against both NXT and AEW.
Considering that, it seems both wrestling shows held up fairly well.
