AEW Holds Backstage Meeting With Women’s Roster Before Last Week’s Dynamite

— Former AEW Women’s champion Thunder Rosa made her return to the company last week, joining her fellow wrestlers on the road while remaining inactive from an in-ring perspective. It was the first time she was traveling with the rest of the roster after having to vacate her women’s title due to injury amid a ton of backstage issues that led to “frayed” relationships with others.

— Fightfulselect.com reported that ahead of last week’s AEW Dynamite, a locker room meeting was held with all the women who were at the taping in attendance, apparently as a strategy to ease the tension between Rosa ad the locker room. According to the report, Rosa did a lot of “making amends” for issues that came up during her last stint with AEW, with some on the roster taking an issue with her approach with things while also portraying her fellow wrestlers as bullies while she herself would work stiff in the ring. Some also took exception to her being off the road due to her injury, but still seeing her being able to travel for other work and it is said that Rosa addressed those concerns publicly during the meeting.

— As for Rosa’s future in AEW, while she was used on Spanish language commentary – something she was happy to participate in – she has yet to be cleared to wrestle but will continue to be with the team on the road. The backstage meeting was said to be “productive” and the hope is that will lead to a clean slate for everyone involved once she is back wrestling.
