AEW News: Brian Cage Reveals Complications In Recovery From Knee Surgery

AEW star Brian Cage underwent surgeries on both of his knees this year and has been working towards a return. However, he recently took to his Instagram account to share a video detailing some complications with his right knee surgery, which will require him to undergo another procedure.

In the video, Cage provided an update on his recovery and addressed the frequent inquiries he receives about his return. He recapped his injury situation and explained that he aimed to resolve his ongoing right knee issues while he was already sidelined. Cage mentioned that he was looking into a nano knee replacement and had conducted thorough research before deciding to proceed with it.

He emphasized that he is doing everything possible to return and expressed hope of coming back for Full Gear. Unfortunately, he discovered an issue with his right knee the week of WrestleDream. He explained that there’s an implant in his knee that may not have integrated properly with the bone. While he noted that it could potentially be a minor issue, surgery is necessary to investigate and correct the problem. Cage described the situation as “beyond devastating” and admitted that he doesn’t know what the silver lining might be.

This is what Brian Cage wrote, “I busted my ass and have done everything imaginable to come back as quick and as healthy as possible.

That being said I have some news. News that nobody would want to hear. There is an issue on the operation I had on my right knee. I was fighting an uphill battle that no amount of therapy, modalities, stem cells, peptides, etc we’re going to fix. I have to go back under the knife for them to try to fix or correct the situation.

Being upset and depressed upon hearing this news is beyond an understatement. It’s maybe question a lot and bring a bond a bunch of doubt. I hate having this what was me mindset, and hopefully when they get in there it’s best case scenario. And even if it’s worst case, once we get this fixed and back on track I’ll pick up the pieces I’ll rebuild and become a better version of “the machine” once again.”

Cage is scheduled to have surgery next week.
