Buddy Matthews has provided an update on his recovery from injury — and unfortunately, it’s not the news fans were hoping for.
During a recent Instagram Live session, the AEW star opened up about the slow progress he’s been making since suffering an ankle injury earlier this year.
“The ankle is not recovering as well as I thought it would be,” Matthews admitted. “There’s no mobility to it, if I can’t have mobility, I can’t move properly.”
He went on to explain how the situation has become increasingly frustrating. “Once it hits three months without healing, it becomes chronic. I thought I’d be back in the ring in April.”
Matthews sustained the injury during a high-profile bout with Kazuchika Okada for the AEW Continental Championship at the AEW Grand Slam: Australia event back in February.
