Eddie Kingston provides a health update.
The AEW superstar suffered a tibial fracture, along with tears to both his ACL and meniscus, during a match with Gabe Kidd in May 2024. Kingston has been sidelined ever since.
In a recent interview with Will Turner of “Wrestling With The Narrative”, the Mad King provided a candid update on his mental and physical state. When asked how he was doing, Kingston didn’t hold back.
“Physically, I feel like sh*t. Mentally, I feel like sh*t,” he shared. “So every day, I’m just working on getting better, you know what I’m saying?”
He also revealed some challenges he’s been facing with physical therapy and other health issues.
“It’s been tough just to get to physical therapy because of my insurance,” he explained. “I just got new insurance, and when I was ready to start at a new PT place, I started having stomach problems. I had to wait a long time for them to figure it out. They had to put a camera down my throat. It’s good that this is happening now when I’m off, but I was in a lot of pain. So far, it’s nothing serious; I’m still waiting on the results, but from the initial check, the doctor said no cancer, no ulcers, nothing like that. My primary care doctor asked me, ‘How’s your stress?’ I was like, ‘How much time do you have? Do we need a therapist in here?’ They’re trying to get me to relax and not stress.”
Kingston went on to reflect on the impact of being away from the wrestling world, admitting that the absence has been difficult for him.
“Not having that has really messed with my head. Thank God I have a good lady and great friends around me. I won’t name names because some work for other companies, and I don’t want to mess with their business,” he laughed. “But I do have good people around me. It takes me a while to open up, but they help.”
He also mentioned his appearance, joking about how his look reflects what he’s been going through. “As you can see, no haircut, no shave. I’m going through my Brody era,” he said with a smile. “Homicide and my mom both told me I look like Brody. She said, ‘You look like that crazy guy you used to watch.’ So, yeah, I’m doing okay. That was a long way to say I’m doing okay.”
At this time, there is no update as to when Kingston will return.
