— During last night’s broadcast of Dynamite Grand Slam, a pair of AEW stars appeared to sustain injuries. Jon Moxley, who was defending his International Title, suffered a legitimate injury in his match against Rey Fenix. The incident occurred when Moxley took a Black Fire Driver and seemed to land awkwardly on his head. While Fenix attempted to cover him for the pin, Moxley appeared to communicate something to referee Rick Nox, possibly indicating a desire for a three-count. However, Knox only counted to two, as this wasn’t the originally planned ending, even though Moxley didn’t make an effort to kick out. Subsequently, Fenix executed another Black Fire Driver, and this time Knox counted to three for the pin. It was later reported that Moxley is “okay,” although he may have suffered a concussion.

Looks like Moxley may have told the ref to call an audible after the first count.
