AEW President Tony Khan announced a new tournament will begin tonight on AEW Dynamite to determine the first challenger to Kenny Omega’s AEW International Championship.
Khan revealed via social media that two first round matches will take place on Dynamite with another pair of matches airing on AEW Collision this coming Saturday. The winners of those first round matches will wrestle in a four-way on Dynamite a week from tonight and finally the winner of that bout advancing will get a title match against Omega at AEW Dynasty in Philadelphia on Sunday, April 6.
The first round matches are:
Orange Cassidy vs. Hechicero (3/12 Dynamite)
The Beast Mortos vs. mystery wildcard opponent (3/12 Dynamite)
Ricochet vs. Katsuyori Shibata (3/15 Dynamite)
Mark Briscoe vs. Mark Davis (3/15 Dynamite)
