— While still contractually signed to AEW, Miro has requested his release from the promotion at some point over the last month. In an update, Sean Ross Sapp of fightfulselect.com stated that he has not heard anything further on the situation nor has he heard anything on AEW granting him that release. He added that Miro and AEW “are rarely on the same side creatively” and that his deal runs out in the spring of 2026 but AEW could extend it beyond that if there is an injury time clause in the contract.
— Earlier today, AEW and WBD announced their new media rights agreement but there’s been separate reports that AEW is also discussing a new TV show that will air on FOX. Swerve Strickland recently appeared on camera telling a friend that AEW was going to be on FOX. Having that statement recorded and released was not intentional and fightfulselect.com reports that there were definitely officials in AEW that wished that bit of news didn’t get out. The belief is that Swerve was not aware a camera was there recording him.
— After running into Mercedes Mone, The Young Bucks and Tony Khan in separate meetings at airports over the last few months, Shane McMahon has not surfaced backstage at any AEW shows and he wasn’t at Grand Slam either.
