— AEW CEO & President Tony Khan was interviewed on the Rich Eisen show today and was asked about the possibility of teaming up with WWE for a possible future supershow. Khan said he likes the idea of something like that from the fans’ perspective but conceded that at this point, it doesn’t sound like anything but a fantasy.
“I would love if that were possible. I don’t know that it is, but it would be great if it was possible for the fans. I think that would be wonderful. But there are a lot of challenging business things in the world of pro wrestling that I think would make that a very challenging thing to do.”
— Up until recent times, a WWE joint venture with their biggest rival promotion would have had almost no chance of happening, but under the new Endeavor/TKO regime with WWE led by Nick Khan and Paul Levesque, the company has begun working with other promotions like TNA, Pro Wrestling NOAH and Marigold, going so far as letting their contracted talent perform at non-WWE events. AEW has relationships with NJPW, Stardom and CMLL while holding joint PPVs (Forbidden Door) with them.
