AEW Reportedly Considered Bringing In WWE Hall Of Famer For This Weekend’s Collision

— AEW presents this weekend’s Collision from the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, NC and it appears at one point, they were looking to bring in a major legend of the business seeing as how he was billed from the city.

— PWInsider.com reports that at one point, AEW was looking to bring in WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair for the show but that is no longer expected to happen. It was believed that Flair was going to be slated for a “cameo” appearance before the plans were scrapped, however, AEW is still bringing in The Rock N’ Roll Express, Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson as legends who will be on the show.

— Flair appeared on The Five Star Podcast and confirmed that while he won’t be appearing, he has nothing but good things to say about AEW President Tony Khan and the phenomenal job that he is doing with his company:

“Oh god, we’re very close. I think he’s one of the greatest, not just great promoter, I think he’s one of the greatest people, human beings I’ve ever met. Very caring, genuine guy. And he’s got more money than God.”
