As previously reported, AEW star Wardlow suffered what is believed to be a torn pectoral muscle following his return at last month’s AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view.
According to Fightful Select, Wardlow’s injury impacted “immediate creative plans” for the All Out event, as one of the top matches was set to feature Wardlow challenging “Hangman” Adam Page for the AEW World Championship.
However, it was noted in the report that Kyle Fletcher was always intended to be the one to face Adam Page at All Out, which is why the match was officially announced last Wednesday night on Dynamite. The report mentioned that Wardlow and Fletcher were scheduled to collaborate on aspects of the storyline leading up to the event.
Wardlow is expected to be sidelined for an extended period, and his injury was a significant topic of discussion at MJF’s wedding, where many expressed their sympathy for Wardlow’s situation.
