— Amid tons of rumors that several talent want out, have requested releases or even been granted them, it appears that Tony Khan has decided that AEW will not be fulfilling any requests for releases by talent. Instead, AEW will be holding talent to their contractual obligations completely separate from giving talent time off for personal reasons. On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that “Nobody is getting released. That’s the doctrine Tony Khan made very clear I guess in the last couple days.”
— With Malakai Black clearing up his status via a lengthy Instagram Live video last night where he vehemently denied reports that he was given his AEW release, his stablemates Buddy Matthews and Brody King also seemed to clarify their situations, strongly implying that they weren’t going anywhere. Over the weekend, Matthews told an indie crowd that he was taking some time off.
