— On last night’s AEW Dynamite, the company’s plans for next month’s “Grand Slam Australia” were revealed. With the event taking place in Brisbane, Australia on February 15, it was unclear how AEW was going to tackle the timezone issue with speculation that perhaps AEW was going to stream the show live on Max.
— After Australian native Toni Storm’s won the Casino gauntlet match to earn a shot against rival and AEW Women’s World Champion Mariah May at the event, a graphic was shown displaying the start time of the event as 8 PM ET on TNT and simulcast on Max. The special takes place at 530 PM local Brisbane time which equates to 230 AM ET. That would mean that Grand Slam Australia will air on an almost 18 hour tape delay and air on TNT in place of that week’s Collision.
— AEW Grand Slam Australia takes place at the 13,500 Brisbane Entertainment Centre after originally slated for 50,000+ seat Suncorp Stadium. While no reason was given for the change in venue, with the downgrade in capacity, it was no doubt related to ticket sales.
