AEW star Rebel provided an update on the health situation she has been dealing with for over a year and the news isn’t great.
In an emotional video, Rebel revealed that she was originally diagnosed with pneumonia but after not showing any improvement, she consulted with the Mayo Clinic who found that she was actually dealing with “primary pulmonary lymphoma”, a type of cancer in the lungs. However, she indicated that if there was a best case scenario in having cancer, fortunately she has it. However, she has also picked up some sort of a neurological disorder which is going to delay cancer treatment.
“After a year of not getting better, I decided to go to the Mayo Clinic and see if I could get treated by them and they found that it was not cryptococcal pneumonia this whole time and that it is primary pulmonary lymphoma, which is cancer in the lungs. And if there is a best case scenario then I have it so that’s good.”
“Tomorrow I start rehab because along this tumultuous journey I picked up a little disorder called functional neurological disorder and it has taken my ability to walk. I now walk with a walker and my ability to speak clearly, I don’t know if you can tell, but it sounds like I bit my tongue.”
“I’ve also lost some ability or function in my right hand. And I kind of have like a claw hand. So it’s hard for me to use my dominant hand, I can’t really write and do my makeup, little things like that. I’m very hopeful I can gain some of that functioning ability. It’s a very aggressive, intense therapy. It’s Monday to Friday, 8 to 5, like a full-time job. So I’m very hopeful for it.”
“I have a very serious infection right now so I’m on IV antibiotics. I have to clear this infection first before I can address the cancer. And once that’s finished, hopefully in December, I will go in for a third bronchoscopy to determine what kind of treatment I’ll be having, chemo, radiation, immunology and then we’ll start there and then we’ll kick its ass, OK? So I’m hoping that will start around the first of 2026.”
Health update. Asking for your prayers and support 🙏🏼. I hope to keep you updated in my rehab journey. #lymphoma #cancer #nonhodgkinslymphoma #lungs #fnd #css #mycobacteriumabscessus #rebel pic.twitter.com/hi9fzKZQ9j
