AEW Superstar Mercedes Mone Ranked First In PWI’s Top-250 List For Female Wrestlers

Pro Wrestling Illustrated released their annual Women’s Top-250 rankings earlier today and AEW superstar Mercedes Mone topped the list.

After finishing as high as second (2016) and third (2015), this is Mone’s first time finishing first. Last year’s top ranked female, Toni Storm, dropped to second and the top five was rounded out by Saya Kamitani, Tiffany Stratton and Stephanie Vaquer. Positions 6-10 were held by IYO Sky, Athena, Sareee, Naomi and Rhea Ripley.

PWI devised their list based on five main criteria and with the time period running from October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025

  • In-ring achievement: win-loss record, championships and tournaments won.
  • Influence: visibility & prestige within their promotion and the industry.
  • Technical ability: variety of moves, in-ring storytelling and quality of matches.
  • Competition: success against the most varied and highest quality opponents.
  • Activity: minimum ten singles matches total or six matches in separate months.

Past winners include Mickie James, Gail Kim, Paige, Nikki Bella, Charlotte Flair, Asuka, Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey, Bayley, Bianca Belair, Syuri, and Rhea Ripley.
