In an update from the closing angle on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live, WWE has moved former WWE Champion AJ Styles to the “Alumni” roster section of their official website.
As noted, SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan made the call to “fire” Styles after the former WWE Champion delivered a brutal beatdown to the SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon, only for Shane to turn around and end the show by declaring that he would be facing Styles at WrestleMania 33.
WWE has yet to officially announce Shane McMahon vs. AJ Styles for this year’s WrestleMania mega-event, however the belief is that it will continue as part of an angle that will see the blue brand Commissioner re-hire the former champion specifically for the purposes of being able to step inside the squared circle with him to exact his revenge personally at WrestleMania 33.
