— Earlier this year, it was speculated that AJ Styles had either signed a new contract with WWE or was very close to doing so. Fightfulselect.com is now reporting that Styles has indeed inked a new deal that is for multiple years, which effectively prevents him from hitting free agency later this year.
— Styles’ original contract with WWE was set to expire sometime in the spring/summer 2022 timeframe and the company expected there to be plenty of suitors for his services and wanted to get him under contract before he even become a free agent. Styles had previously stated himself that he was very happy in WWE and was even looking towards an office or backstage role once he retired and so there was significant mutual interest from both sides to make this happen.
— The report adds that the multi-year contract is a massive deal and one source noted that Styles is set to earn over $3 million annually while adding that he deserves every penny of that as he will “easily make that back” for WWE.
