Aleister Black released a statement on social media where he recalled taking a brutal beating trying to defend a friend due to their sexual preferences, and reveals that he dished out a lot of violence in the process.
Black would then declare that he’d always fight for the rights of the LGBTQ community, especially when he’s standing up for friends against “narrow minded” individuals.
“When I was younger I would attend many local hardcore shows to support friends, local bands and just because I loved music and discovering new bands, luckily our local scene was thriving. Every once and a while people would show up with ill will and the intention to do harm and disrupt the shows. This particular night they targeted a friend of mine because of his sexual preferences, that night I took a massive beating and dished out more violence towards a human being than I have ever done to protect my friend and his at the time lover. There will never not be a moment where I won’t stand up nor literally fight to protect what I believe in as well as keeping my friends and people safe that are still victims of ridiculous narrow-minded brainwashed individuals. No person should ever have to hide who and what they are, nor be discriminated against because of race or sexual orientation they have. #pridemonth”
