During his recent appearance on Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette, former WWE Superstar Aleister Black spoke about his release from WWE.
While discussing his own release, Black recalled his reaction to WWE releasing Zelina Vega, who received her future endeavors on November 13th, 2020, and is also his wife.
After being released from the company, Sports Illustrated reported that Vega and WWE parted ways “due to a breach of contract”. When asked about the position the release put him in, Aleister told listeners:
“Two weeks before I came back and hit Big E, I sat down with Vince and he was like, ‘Are you ready?’ One week later, I’m sitting in the gym and I see a name on the phone calling me. It was a distinct voice and this person also didn’t understand why I was let go. It was a sense of relief. They let my wife go, under reasons that are questionable. Everything got sorted out and is fine, but they called me and said, ‘We understand this is putting you in a tough spot.’ Nope, this is my career, I spoke about it with her and this is business between you and her. Does Tom, her husband have an opinion on it? Sure. Does Aleister Black the professional? Nope. He’s ready to go to work and create. She agreed.”
On May 13, Fightful Select reported that WWE had plans for Vega to return the company, after an appearance at the WWE Performance Center. Renee brought up the report to Black, who explained:
“There is the thing of ‘validating your stories’ as opposed to blatantly putting out stuff that harms people. Take in the fact that a couple of weeks ago, with my wife, that harmed her so much. Nothing but hate comments. All because someone was like, ‘sign up to my Patreon, I have news.’ There was literally no news. There was nothing.”
