Rey Fenix Suffers Leg Injury At Big Time Wrestling Event (8/24/2019)

Another Top AEW All Out Match In Jeopardy, Rey Fenix Suffers Leg Injury (Updated)

Another top match scheduled for this month’s AEW All Out pay-per-view could be in jeopardy.

Following the news that Jon Moxley was forced off of the 8/31 PPV scheduled for Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois due to a bad case of MRSA in his elbow, it looks like the “injury bug” has struck All Elite Wrestling (AEW) once again.

As noted, Moxley will be replaced by PAC (a.k.a. Neville), who will now face Kenny Omega in the new co-main event of AEW All Out.

Just weeks before the big event, Rey Fenix of The Lucha Bros tag-team with Pentagon JR. suffered an apparent leg injury while working a match for the Big Time Wrestling promotion in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on Friday night.

The injury happened when The Lucha Bros were taking on Juventud Guerrera and Teddy Hart in tag-team action and Fenix collapsed in the ring, grabbing his leg after picking up Hart after blasting him with a super kick.

Fenix reportedly rolled out of the ring and waved to the back for help, which came and assisted him to the backstage area as the match in the ring immediately went to the finish, with Guerrera quickly pinning Pentagon JR. before The Lucha Bros tag-team member quickly headed backstage to check on Fenix.

Early reports coming out of Friday night is that Fenix may have suffered a broken leg.

According to Dave Meltzer of, those reports are premature and Fenix has been walking on the leg, although it is weak. He also noted that Fenix was saying that he thinks he will still be able to compete at the 8/31 AEW PPV.

The Lucha Bros — Rey Fenix and Pentagon JR. — are scheduled to defend the AAA Tag-Team Championships against The Young Bucks — Nick and Matt Jackson — at the AEW All Out PPV.

We will keep you posted as more news regarding Fenix’s injury status becomes available.
