AEW producer and on-air talent as Cody’s manager, as well as the apparent contract review expert for FTR, “The Enforcer” Arn Anderson, recently spent some time to share his expert opinion on the ongoing WWE Championship main event run of Drew McIntyre.
As a longtime behind-the-scenes figure in WWE and now AEW, as well as being one of the founding members of the legendary Four Horsemen faction, “Double A” sounded off on what he feels is the only thing holding “The Scottish Psychopath” back from ascending to an even higher level in the company — fans attending the shows while he continues to deliver on a consistent basis after so many years in the business.
Featured below are some of the highlights of The Arn Show podcast where Arn Anderson discusses his thoughts on the current run that Drew McIntyre is on in WWE.
On loving the latest run that Drew McIntyre has had in WWE that culminated with his WWE Championship victory at WrestleMania 36: “Drew’s got it all. He looks the part, he’s matured, he’s paid his dues, he’s been around the world to learn his craft. He’s come back to WWE with a very mature look, and just the way he views the business [is different]. The only thing I hate about this entire run that he’s having is we don’t have the fans to show him in the arena how they feel about it, because I think he would be getting a very good reception.”
On wrestling fans appreciating talent that earns their spot through years of hard work and hoping the company realizes that:
“Fans appreciate guys that have to work for the things they get in this business. They get it and they understand that he’s paid his dues, and I just hope that they stay the course with Drew and don’t get antsy, and nervous, and just make one of those knee-jerk reactions that they normally do, and just shut his water off before he gets a chance to show what his value is.”
