AEW performer and pro wrestling legend Arn Anderson made an effort to talk about the Chris Benoit tragedy during a recent episode of his ‘ARN’ podcast.
“The Enforcer,” who worked alongside Benoit in a revised version of the Four Horsemen in WCW during the Monday Night Wars against WWE, admitted that the subject in general is a very difficult one for him to speak about.
“I’m going to disappoint you on this, and I apologize,” Double-A began when talking about the topic on episode 57 of his ‘ARN’ podcast, dubbed ‘WWE Bragging Rights 2010.’ “The whole Chris thing – I have yet to wrap my head around it.”
Anderson continued, “The guy I knew wasn’t capable of doing this. A lot of the unknowns we’ll never know. I know the tragedy of the result, which is unforgivable, but I just– to be honest with you, I’ve not had any resolution about it in my mind.
“I can’t wrap my head around it, like I said,” Anderson said. “I don’t feel comfortable discussing Mr. Benoit and his slant. I’m sure he has something that’ll never be able to get rid of and never be able to shake it.”
The longtime pro wrestling legend concluded by saying “my heart goes out to him” and once again making it clear that the subject in general is not something he can articulate as well as he would like.
“My heart goes out to him,” said Anderson. “I just really can’t comment on that and say anything – that would be for sure and intelligent.”
