While in town for the Starrcast 2 convention in Las Vegas, Nevada this weekend, WWE Hall Of Famer and founding member of the legendary Four Horsemen stable, Arn Anderson, spoke for the first time in public about his recent, unexpected release from WWE.
As noted, “Double-A” was released from WWE back in February, reportedly due to an alleged incident where he knowingly allowed Alicia Fox to wrestle at a WWE live event while intoxicated.
Although he wasn’t allowed to talk too much about the subject due to a non-disclosure agreement that was part of his deal with the company, “The Enforcer” did provide some insight into his time working with WWE as a road agent / producer, and how the relentlessly consistent travel schedule that comes along with the job eventually catches up with you.
“I wish I could talk about it but the fact is, I had to sign a non-disclosure agreement when I left,” said Anderson, when asked about the details regarding his release from WWE during his appearance at Starrcast 2 this weekend. “You’re going to hear a lot of stuff online but don’t believe everything you hear. The people that know me, know the situation.”
Anderson continued, claiming that he is not upset about the way things ended with WWE. He did, however, delve into some of the issues that came along with the job of road agent / producer he held with WWE for nearly 20 years, as he started with the company in 2001, shortly after WWE’s buyout of WCW.
“I’m not [upset about leaving],” Anderson said when asked if he is upset about the way in which his tenure with the company came to an abrupt end back on February 21st. “It was a great, stable environment for my family and myself, but it’s a difficult place to work. The pressure is unbelievable. The hours are unbelievable. The travel is something.”
In closing, Anderson made a pretty interesting, and somewhat telling remark about his WWE departure.
“I don’t want to be anywhere where I’m not wanted,” he said. “After 37 years, I think I deserve more than that.”
As far as what is next for the WWE Hall Of Famer, he announced during Starrcast 2 weekend that he will be launching an official podcast with Conrad Thompson called “ARN” later this year.
