Reggie Folks Murdered

Atlanta Area Independent Wrestler Murdered By Cop Who Was On Administrative Leave

— Independent wrestler Reginald “Reggie” Folks was murdered earlier this month by a former police officer in Union City, GA, according to multiple sources. Folks, who was working as a Lyft driver, gave a ride to Koby Minor. Minor was with the Atlanta Police Department for six years but on administrative leave after being arrested late last year for a drug related offence.

— Union City Police statement of facts noted that Folks picked Minor up through Lyft to bring him home the morning of May 15. While en route, Minor believed that Folk was in a “gay fraternity” and was trying to kidnap and recruit him into it. The report goes onto state that Minor “heard what he thought was another voice in his ear talking to him, but did not say what the voice said” and became more suspicious when he believed Folk was speaking another language to someone on his phone. At that point, he attempted to get out of the vehicle but was unable to do so as they were driving but when the car came to an intersection, he shot Folks in the head. Minor then broke a window and flagged down a bystander, giving her the story above. He was arrested, charged with aggravated assault and murder, and resigned from his job the same day. He remains in jail.
