Backstage AEW News On How WBD Split Will Affect Dynamite, Collision Moving Forward

As previously reported, Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), the media partner for AEW, announced on Monday that it will be splitting the company into two separate entities. One will focus on Streaming and Studios, headed by David Zaslav, while the other will concentrate on Global Networks, led by Gunnar Wiedenfels.

According to Sean Ross Sapp from Fightful Select, WBD representatives have indicated when the split is expected to take effect. Sources close to the situation have confirmed that AEW has existing contracts in place and that no immediate changes are planned. It was also mentioned that AEW remains a priority for WBD, and, as of now, there are no anticipated changes regarding AEW.

Additionally, the report addressed a quote circulating online, attributed to Zaslav, claiming that AEW programming attracts 60,000 to 80,000 viewers. This quote has been deemed completely fabricated. The split is expected to be finalized by mid-2026.
