Backstage AEW News: Update On Weekly TNT TV Show, How Many Annual PPVs?

Tickets for All Elite Wrestling’s second PPV show – All Out – go on sale 6/14 and after that, the company plans to run four major PPVs per year (each being five hours in length) and surrounded by shorter streaming specials such as the upcoming 6/29 show in Daytona Beach and the 7/16 show in Jacksonville.

AEW’s weekly TV show – the day and time yet to be confirmed – begins in October.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, TNT has done a lot of analytics and research to determine whether to air the shows on Tuesdays or Wednesdays and they are leaning towards the day that will have the least amount of preemption’s.

The decision is reportedly very close to being made and “sounds like” Wednesday is currently the favorite.

This is interesting, as the initial reports stated that the plans were for the weekly AEW TV show to launch on TNT on Tuesday, October 1st — three days before WWE moves SmackDown Live from Tuesday night’s to Friday night’s on FOX on Friday, October 4th — with the AEW show continuing to air each Tuesday night going forward.

TV deals for the United Kingdom and Canada are expected to be announced shortly once TNT finalized and announces its details.
