Vince McMahon has issued a new rule within WWE, cracking down and perhaps even outright banning wrestlers from using leg slaps. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, McMahon issued new signage to be placed at the Gorilla Position, which read “Do not slap leg when kicking”. The sign has been posted as a reminder to talent, before they go out for their matches. The report notes that the rule change came about after McMahon saw a “big” Smackdown wrestler execute a very obvious slap. While unconfirmed, it is believed that a memo was also sent to NXT talent to re-iterating the change, but it’s unknown how WWE will handle situations involving wrestlers who break the new rule. Some wrestlers who were asked about this new rule felt that it was another knee-jerk reaction, and that it will be forgotten soon enough.
