Former 2-time AEW World Champion “The Best In The World” CM Punk was released from the company due to his backstage altercation with Jack Perry at the All In London PPV Event in addition to the former 2-time AEW World Champion lunging at AEW President Tony Khan after the altercation, which resulted in a number of monitors being knocked over Khan and Punk telling the AEW CEO that he quit the promotion.

Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted that Ace Steel is still working for the promotion and in the same role as he was before Punk’s release and he has not heard of anyone pushing for Steel to be released. Meltzer also noted that it was CM Punk who had pushed for the promotion to rehire Ace Steel after AEW released him for Steel’s involvement in the All Out brawl.
