Lex Luger is set to join the WWE Hall of Fame this year and the Total Package has been vocal about his good friend, rival, and tag-team partner Sting inducting him. The Icon has been retired for over a year, but has maintained an active presence in AEW with a special Legends-style contract.
There’s uncertainty about whether AEW would need to approve Sting’s involvement in Luger’s induction, but Fightful Select reports that WWE has been in discussions—if not already reaching out—to make it happen. Luger and his inner circle have made it clear that Sting is still their top pick for the honor.
Interestingly, Sting had previously mentioned to those close to him that he might not be able to participate due to his AEW commitments. In recent weeks, it has come to light that Sting’s original plan was to only be in Las Vegas for a limited time during WrestleMania week. However, that schedule has now been extended.
