As previously reported, former WWE employee Janel Grant recently spoke with POST Wrestling about her feelings toward former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. She expressed that she feels a sense of forgiveness for him in light of the allegations of sexual misconduct against him.
In a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed Grant’s interview and the fallout from her lawsuit, which led to McMahon stepping down from WWE and his role as Executive Chairman of the Board of WWE’s parent company, TKO, in January 2024. Meltzer pointed out that McMahon has not faced any significant legal or financial repercussions as a result of Grant’s lawsuit; in fact, by placing WWE in the hands of Ari Emanuel, the company has grown, which has likely increased McMahon’s wealth.
Meltzer acknowledged that while McMahon did lose his company—a significant personal loss for him—it doesn’t qualify as legal punishment. He noted that some might argue McMahon “got away with it,” but emphasized that wrestling was McMahon’s entire life, and losing control of it has undoubtedly made him unhappy, despite any financial gains.
Grant and McMahon jointly filed a motion to move the lawsuit to arbitration earlier in July, but there have been no updates on the situation since that filing. Additionally, Grant was recently honored with the Advocacy In Action Award from the Connecticut Alliance To End Sexual Violence.
