Backstage News On If WWE Is Piping In Fake Crowd Noise On Current Shows

In the latest edition of Fightful Select Answers, Sean Ross Sapp mentioned that he hasn’t noticed WWE piping in crowd noise for their broadcasts.

Initially, when Monday Night RAW debuted on Netflix in January, the streaming service did not want WWE to use added crowd noise. Sapp pointed out that when WWE does decide to pipe in crowd noise, it is often very noticeable, particularly during the Thunderdome Era of the COVID-19 pandemic, a practice that WWE chose to continue later.

Sapp noted that WWE would sometimes add crowd audio over Dominik Mysterio’s promos, which he feels was unnecessary since those segments received strong reactions from live audiences. He commented that the added crowd noise sounded off during those segments on TV.

Furthermore, Sapp stated that WWE generally adds audio to broadcasts, usually when it’s not needed. He mentioned that WWE often lays down a blanket crowd noise over all matches aired, which he believes is a good idea and thinks other wrestling promotions should consider adopting this practice as well.
