Danielson wields considerable influence within AEW, and it’s worth noting that he had pitched the idea of working a PPV event with Ali back in 2019 when they were both with WWE.
- The report also suggests that WWE’s decision to release Ali likely stemmed from the perception that they had no immediate plans to utilize him on the main roster, even though his contract entitled him to “main roster money.” Interestingly, WWE did not wait for his ongoing storyline with Dominik Mysterio to conclude on TV, nor did they give him a week or two to write him out of storylines.
