– WWE announced last week that next year’s Royal Rumble in San Antonio, TX has already topped $5 million in gate revenue but the biggest rumors surrounding the event revolve around the possibility of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson being part of the show in some capacity.
– The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that there has been behind-the scenes discussion of trying to get The Rock at the premium live event, with the easiest and most natural outcome being that he would enter as a surprise #30 in the men’s Rumble, win the match and go onto face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39. The report added that WWE would like to lock in plans for WrestleMania by mid-January and thus, would like to finalize any plans regarding The Rock by date.
