— Vince McMahon was backstage at last night’s WWE Raw – the first time he was at a TV show since returning – and while it was reported that he was mainly there to visit with John Cena, the news caused rampant speculation online that McMahon was back in creative too.
— A report by fightfulselect.com reports that the online reaction was far more significant than anything backstage as most talent figured McMahon would be back at TVs sooner or later. Multiple sources report that McMahon was in his usual spot at the Gorilla position all night and was in good spirits greeting talents that he would run into. However, it doesn’t appear as if provided any instructions or feedback to anyone that he saw so that would align with the reports that he was only there to enjoy the show and meet with long time favorite, Cena. Those who interacted with McMahon noted that the initial panic that flooded WWE when Vince strong-armed his way back into the company was largely missing but one talent said the big sign on his involvement moving forward will be revealed on Friday depending on if he is going to be at Smackdown or not. The fightful report also stated that neither talent nor staff were briefed or given the heads up that McMahon was going to be around and there were even several higher ups who were left in the dark. While some talent purposely avoided associating with him last night, one WWE official felt as if this was McMahon’s way to test the waters of his return in order to gauge how talent and staff would react, possibly making it easier for him to attend other future events now that his first appearance is out of the way.
— Finally, one interesting observation with Vince that “turned heads” was his physical appearance as he reportedly arrived at the venue with dyed hair and a small mustache that multiple wrestlers compared to that of Gomez Addams from The Addams Family and it led to heavy discussions backstage among those that saw him with one person saying it was a more shocking look than when he got his head shaved.
