Backstage News On Plans For Bianca Belair At WrestleMania, Late Changes Made To Royal Rumble

— Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio yesterday reported that there were a couple of minor changes made to the men’s Royal Rumble match on Sunday. Otis, who was originally advertised for the Rumble in early January, was actually not supposed to be a part of the match, but was re-inserted for reasons that are unclear. Angel Garza was also internally expected to be a part of the match but was also pulled at the last minute. However, unlike Otis, Garza was never advertised and was presumably going to be one of the last remaining unannounced participants. Finally, Jey Uso – also advertised for the match – was not cleared by WWE’s medical personnel.

— It was also noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that while WWE seems to have locked in Roman Reigns vs. Edge for the Universal title for WrestleMania, plans for Bianca Belair – the winner of the women’s Royal Rumble – are not yet finalized. In fact, creatively, it hasn’t even been decided if she will challenge for the Raw or Smackdown women’s titles, currently held by Asuka and Sasha Banks, respectively.
