On last night’s Wrestling Observer Radio, one of the discussions was about WWE setting up a future Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns storyline which is likely the reason that Rollins beat Reigns clean on Raw.
The plan is still for Reigns to defeat Brock Lesnar and win the WWE Universal title, but after that there are a lack of opponents for Reigns into the summer. Dave Meltzer speculated that if WWE presented a heel like Bray Wyatt as Roman’s first post-WrestleMania feud, it would be a complete failure.
Braun Strowman and Finn Balor would be two other candidates, but Strowman for one doesn’t make sense as WWE doesn’t want him losing in a one-on-one match. As a result, Rollins appears to be the guy being groomed to step up and challenge Reigns in a program following WrestleMania.
