Backstage Reaction From WWE Raw: Wrestlers Optimistic at Creative Under Triple H

– Last night’s WWE Monday Night Raw was the second such episode presented under the leadership of new head of creative/talent Paul “HHH” Levesque. If backstage reaction is anything, the show and overall direction of WWE TV has been almost entirely positive from wrestlers according to fightfulselect.com. Sources tell them that most of the optimism centered around how the show had fresh matches, more wrestling, a renewed focus on the women’s division, and specific underused talent like Ciampa and Mustafa Ali being given a chance to shine.

– Others not even on the show (presumably from NXT and Smackdown) said they were excited and optimistic at Triple H heading up creative and the fact that Dakota Kai was brought back so quickly was a resounding sign and made them hopeful about their own futures. Positive changes were said to even be noticed by wrestlers outside of WWE.

– A pwinsider.com report added that another change that has helped backstage morale is the how there has been a loosening up of the freedom talent has when speaking on the mic and wrestling their matches, giving them opportunities to improvise as needed. This was evident in last week’s Sheamus vs. Drew McIntyre match which reportedly included a “sizeable portion” of the match being called on the fly rather than scripted ahead of time.
