Backstage WWE SmackDown LIVE News & Notes From This Week's Show (9/10/2019)

Backstage SmackDown News: Vince Makes Changes, Daniel Bryan Leaves Before Show, More

There was a lot of news that came out of the backstage scene from this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown LIVE from Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Daniel Bryan was backstage at MSG in the afternoon, however he reportedly left before the show began. He was never booked to be on the show which is apparently the reason why he left.

It’s unknown whether or not Bryan will be appearing at this Sunday’s WWE Clash Of Champions 2019 pay-per-view this weekend during the Roman Reigns vs. Erick Rowan No Disqualification Match.

There are conflicting reports regarding whether or not Kurt Angle was backstage at SmackDown LIVE on Tuesday night, but he obviously was not used in any capacity on the actual broadcast.

Meanwhile, Rey Mysterio was backstage at Tuesday night’s show at “The Garden.”

There were a pitch made to have a Battle Royal to determine Chad Gable’s opponent in the King of the Ring semi-final match, however Vince McMahon reportedly made the call to go with Shane McMahon instead.

As far as the attendance for last night’s WWE SmackDown LIVE show at MSG, it was said to be much lower than RAW in the same building on Monday night. Significant portions of the upper section were tarped off during the show.

In the dark match held exclusively for the fans in attendance live in the arena in New York City on Tuesday night, Ali defeated Buddy Murphy in singles action.
